This is important for an organization that information should be organized around needs of customers and users. IT provides the infrastructure for creating and managing information. There is possibility that the business side may not always understand implications of information systems.  Though IT is involved in every business process of an organization, many organizations have gap between the corporate strategy and IT objectives.  Also, it took several years for most of the farms to understand the technology and its possibilities.

In today’s competitive market, it is extremely challenging for IT professionals to develop a platform for themselves and take off from that platform to reach soaring heights of success. There are always risks such as highly competitive and changing workplace situations, political favoritism, changing business strategies, changed economy etc. More importantly, as discussed before, aligning the IT venture with the corporate strategies and compliances are a challenging task for a CIO/IT Manager.
